The Aqueducts

*Aqueducts are made of stone or bricks, they are meant to carry water from mountain springs down to towns and cities.
*Rome was not the first city to have aqueducts but because of the size of Rome and the amount of water that it needed the Roman Aqueducts became world famous.
*By the time 97 A.D. rolled around Rome had been getting 85 million gallons of water.

*That was made possible by Marcus Agrippa
*The most famous Aqueduct is the Pont du Gard (the one in the pictures).

Pantheon

*The name The Pantheon means: "Place for all Gods"
*The building was built during the time that Hadrian ruled the Roman Empire.
*He dedicated the building to the Roman gods and Goddess after it was finished...after that it was used as a Christian Church for a while. *Built of concrete and brick, it is 142 feet in diameter and it is 142 feet tall at its highest point
